I was checking out some of my favorite blogs and actually stopped to comment on one today because her message was one that resonated with me. We went back and forth with emails earlier and I asked if she would consider offering up a challenge/project for the Art Slammers. She gladly accepted and I can not wait to have her grace us with her creativity.
I have been reading a book called the Aladdin Factor and I like the message behind asking for what you want. It made me think about all the times I did not ask for something because I was scared to or I had created a whole conversation on what I thought someone was going to say to me. We give up so much of our power based on fear. Why are we such chickens, people pleasers, push overs, insecure, unmotivated?
Mid-Week Art Slam Project
Be daring. What have you dared to do lately in spite of your fear? Keywords being: IN SPITE OF your fear.
What have you done that you are proud of? Document it in your journal and if you are so inclined, do another page, and another and another. Document your gratitude. Reclaim your power.
Do it…do it now.

Sometimes it’s hard for me to ask *myself* for what I want, much less someone else. You are right, we do give up so much of our power because of this fear. Why? I don’t know, but it’s something I struggle with constantly. I love your journal layout, dare. It really *says* something, and I appreciate that.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting on one of my articles. I was glad to find your blog in the process.
I can’t wait to do this! Must go out and do something daring.
Hi Lu, thanks for your comment on my blog and leaving a link so I could find you here! Your food photography is gorgeous - what I aspire to (fuzzy food only in my kitchen, it seems).
I’m very inspired by your art journaling challenges here, especially this one. I’m currently in the middle of something that is very scary, very hard, and I need to give myself more credit for facing my fears and putting one foot in front of the other and just continuing. Thank you for the reminder to capture these things in my journal.
Hello Lu,
I love your blog! I found your link from The Dream’s blog. I’m always excited to find other creative souls! I see that we have a lot in common (from your categories, creativity is my passion and sharing & inspiring it is my soul’s calling). I’ll be back to see more later on. By the way, you might also be interested in my friend’s (Lise Richards) blog & site:
